Well, that didn’t take long at all.
The Iowa passing offense has been dormant all season long, but there’s nothing like a matchup with UMASS to try and cure those woes. And the Hawkeyes got things started quickly on Saturday.
On the second play of the game, quarterback Mark Gronowski hit wide receiver Sam Phillips in stride for a 45-yard gain to put them in the red zone. And on the very next play, Gronowski fired a strike to wide receiver Seth Anderson for a 20-yard touchdown pass.
3 plays. 68 yards. TD IOWA.

On just one drive, Gronowski has passed for more yards than he did against Albany, and the passing offense looks like it has some life. I have a feeling this won’t be the last big touchdown play of the night for the Hawkeyes.
