Vote for Dispatch Boys Athlete of the Week presented by Wexner Medical Center

Dispatch.com readers can vote for their favorite boys high school athletes of the week on their desktop, the Dispatch.com mobile web or Dispatch app once per hour by scrolling down to ballots listed below.

Deadline is 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12.

The girls Athlete of the Week poll will be published on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center high school Athlete of the Week voting occurs each week during high school sports competition and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Athletes are on this week’s ballot based on information made available to The Dispatch and nominations.

Once athletes win during the regular season, they’re not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. If athletes haven’t won in the regular season, they can be nominated more than once. 

The Dispatch staff reserves the right to remove ballots or athletes from the ballot where voting irregularities have occurred.

Here are this week’s Boys Athlete of the Week candidates:

Corban Allman, Grove City cross-country: Ran a personal record 18:46.94 at the McGowan Invitational, cutting his time of 20:54 from two weeks ago.  

Levi Davis, Olentangy Orange football:  Ran 13 times for 92 yards and three touchdowns and completed 15 of 22 passes for 202 yards and a TD in a 42-14 win over Olentangy.

Blane Ball, Centerburg football: Amassed 304 all-purpose yards in a 53-14 win over Worthington Christian, passing for 177 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 127 yards and two scores on 12 carries. He also averaged 42.3 yards per punt.

RJ Day, DeSales football: Completed 16 of 19 passes for 272 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-18 win over Africentric.

Josh Goers, Cardington football: Rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries in a 55-24 win over Bucyrus.

Nathan Huss, Buckeye Valley football: Completed 9 of 16 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns and had a 48-yard TD run in a 38-15 win over River Valley.

Jett Jerwers, New Albany Football: Ran for 250 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in a 30-21 win over Olentangy Berlin.

Carson Kiger, Berne Union football: Rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries and passed for 119 yards and two TDs in a 35-13 win over Lakewood. 

Kyle Kirby, Granville football: Ran for 165 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries in a 33-14 win over Johnstown.

Hunter McKinney, Utica football: Had nine catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-20 loss to Fredericktown.

Rocco Paschal, Watkins Memorial football: Stats: Had 14 solo tackles — including two for loss — in a 35-14 loss to Teays Valley.

Caleb Rowe, Delaware Hayes football: Passed for 204 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 131 yards and three TDs on 13 carries in a 41-34 win over Mount Vernon.

Logan Russell, Sheridan football: Ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a 21-19 win over Licking Heights.

Blake Sipes, Fredericktown football: Ran for 252 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 27-20 win over Utica.

Joey Slates, Dublin Jerome football: Ran for 166 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in a 24-7 win over Dublin Coffman.

Bodie Smith, Newark football: Completed 14 of 16 passes for 376 yards and four touchdowns in a 52-20 win over Zanesville.

Jamari Snow, Canal Winchester football: Ran for 251 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries in a 48-28 win over Worthington Kilbourne.

Mick Temple, Pickerington North cross-country: Won the Wooster Invitational with a time of 14:44.93, setting the meet record and the course record. In previous race at the Pick North Classic, he won in a time of 15:05.80, a meet record that had been held by Watkins Memorial’s Andrew Jordan (15:14) since 2015. Temple has run the fastest two times in Ohio this year.

 Andyriq Thomas, Pickerington North football: Ran for 224 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in a 17-3 win over Pickerington Central.

Eden Williams, Dublin Scioto football: Stats: Ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, including the tying score from 20 yards in overtime, in a 28-27 win over Thomas Worthington.
