Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey was ejected during Sunday’s Week 11 win over the Bengals after he attempted to throw a punch at Ja’Marr Chase.
After the game, we got Ramsey’s explanation for the heated moment. And video definitely appeared to back up the Steelers cornerback’s story.
It’s Spitgate Part II!
What initially started with Ramsey and Chase jostling with each other’s facemasks in separate altercations, ended with Ramsey getting ejected. From the broadcast, it appeared that Ramsey took exception with something Chase said. But sideline video showed a different story.
Jalen Ramsey said he struck Ja’Marr Chase after the Bengals receiver spit on him.

In the video, Chase clearly spits at Ramsey. And it wasn’t until that point when Ramsey reacted with a punch.
I’m not sure how the officials missed that given their prolonged altercation. But for that spit, Chase absolutely should have been ejected as well.
We’ll have to see what the league office decides given that new footage.
