The man that never ages — Pittsburgh Steelers DT Cameron Heyward — picked up a surprise injury ahead of the Week 12 matchup vs. the Chicago Bears.
After missing the first two practices of the week with a non-injury, resting veteran designation, Heyward was limited on Friday with an ankle injury.
Back in Week 4, the Steelers went through a similar situation with RB Jaylen Warren — who was also listed as a non-injury, resting veteran until an additional knee injury he picked up one day later forced him to miss the matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
The heart and soul of the Steelers’ defensive line, Heyward’s absence would be a huge blow to Pittsburgh, especially when factoring the challenge they face in the Bears’ fearsome rushing offense — ranked third-best in the NFL.
