New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo, sidelined with a severe ankle injury, made headlines again during WWE’s Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden.
Front-row with comedian Andrew Schulz and fellow Giants rookie linebacker Abdul Carter, Skattebo drew the ire of The Judgment Day faction — Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh.
Mysterio kicked off the trash talk, mocking New York’s championship drought before targeting Skattebo: Taunting the Giants’ last Super Bowl win in 2011 and quipping, “Can you count, Cam? He don’t know. He can’t count.”
After a tense staredown and a shove toward Schulz, Skattebo shoved McDonagh to the floor, sparking a chaotic ringside brawl that saw the two sides push and “punch” each other.

The segment was likely fully scripted — a classic WWE “work” blending sports and entertainment, with celebrity crossovers long a staple. WWE even capitalized quickly, posting highlights and releasing Skattebo merchandise.
Still, some Giants fans expressed outrage, fearing risk to Skattebo’s recovery from an open ankle dislocation, fractured fibula, and ligament tear suffered in October. Just days earlier, he shared an encouraging update, regaining full ankle/toe movement and eyeing an April return.
Despite the online backlash from concerned Giants fans, there was virtually zero injury risk to Skattebo during the segment. The rookie running back was still wearing his protective walking boot and remained behind the arena’s thick ringside barricade the entire time.
WWE’s production team and security ensured no wrestler ever crossed fully into the front row, making it a classic safe βcelebrity involvementβ spot with no real contact or strain on Skatteboβs recovering ankle.
The Raw spot followed his cage-side appearance at UFC 322 over the weekend.
