The Los Angeles Rams haven’t made any changes to their 53-man roster or practice squad since setting them last week, a clear indication that they like they guys they have. That’s evident in one of their decisions made on Saturday, too.
Teams are allowed to promote two players from the practice squad each week but the Rams decided to elevate just one. They’re bringing up Cody Schrader for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, a temporary elevation for the game. He will revert back to the practice squad after Sunday but can be elevated again next week.
Schrader gives the Rams depth at running back, where they only have three players on the 53-man roster. He’s also capable of returning punts and kicks, so we’ll see if the Rams use him in that phase at all.

Schrader joined the Rams as a waiver claim after the 49ers cut him last summer, staying on the 53-man roster for all of 2024. The Rams waived him last week but it’s clear they still like what he brings to the table.
He’ll be the fourth running back behind Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and Jarquez Hunter this week.
