Peyton Manning, son Marshall go from Tennessee sidelines to hilarious Sunday Night Football promo. Watch

Vols legend and University of Tennessee alumnus Peyton Manning kicked off the first Sunday Night Football matchup of the season on Sept. 7 in a comical promo with his son, Marshall.

In the NBC skit, Peyton and Marshall sit side by side on a sofa, rewatching the very first Sunday Night Football broadcast from 2006, when Peyton played against his brother Eli and the New York Giants. In that game, 20 years ago, the Colts prevailed 26–21.

Manning, the former Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer, recounts the history of the football series to his son, who looks less than enthused.

“Alright, buddy,” Peyton said to Marshall. “Here it is, another football season. Another chapter of Manning family history. I know you love this.”

Eli makes a cameo in the promotional video, as Marshall FaceTimes the former New York Giants quarterback.

“Uncle E, Dad is making me watch that Colts-Giants game again,” Marshall said into the phone.

“Every year,” Eli responded, shaking his head.

The promo aired just two days after the famous father-son duo was spotted at Brentwood Academy football game in Middle Tennessee on Sept. 5.

Marshall is an eighth-grader who plays quarterback for Baylor School in Chattanooga which was scheduled to play BA under the Friday night lights. However, the game was cancelled due to weather.

Marshall is an up-and-coming football player who is continuing the Manning legacy. He follows the footsteps of his father, grandfather Archie, uncle Eli and cousin Arch.
