Ministers defend Bengaluru’s development amidst Biocon chairperson’s criticism on roads, waste management

Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister has called for greater unity among government officials, civic bodies, and citizens to collectively focus on improving Bengaluru’s infrastructure and overall living conditions. This appeal comes in the wake of recent criticism from Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the prominent chairperson of Biocon, who highlighted several pressing issues affecting the city’s infrastructure, including traffic congestion, inadequate public transportation, and insufficient urban planning. The Deputy CM acknowledged the challenges but emphasized that blaming individual agencies alone would not solve the problems. Instead, he urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively, streamline development projects, and implement sustainable solutions that can address Bengaluru’s rapid urbanization. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to investing in critical areas such as road networks, water supply, waste management, and public transport to enhance the city’s quality of life. By fostering a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility, the Deputy CM believes Bengaluru can overcome its infrastructural bottlenecks and evolve into a world-class metropolis.
