The women’s world transfer record has been broken once again this summer with the signing of Grace Geyoro to London City Lionesses.
Michele Kang‘s side have had a busy and ambitious summer, signing 16 players as they look to compete immediately with the top level WSL sides.
The signing of Geyoro from Paris Saint-Germain is yet another statement of intent and also helps Kang’s other team, OL Lyonnes, by weakening their direct rivals.
The French midfielder joins for a fee of £1.4 million, beating the previous record of £1.1 million that Orlando Pride paid Tigres for Lizbeth Ovalle last month.
The world record has been broken four times in 2025 and three times this summer with Chelsea spending £883,000 for Naomi Girma at the start of the year before Arsenal paid £1 million for Olivia Smith earlier in the summer.
Most importantly, London City have bagged one of the world’s best midfielders with the arrival of the 28-year-old.
Geyoro is likely to miss Saturday’s opener away to Arsenal but could make her debut the following when London City welcome Manchester United.
