Instant analysis of the Eagles 16-9 win over Lions on NBC’s Sunday NIght Football Lions

The Eaglesare 8-2 and once again look like one of the best teams in the NFL after a hard-fought 16-9 win over the Detroit Lions (6-4). Philadelphia again proved they have a Super Bowl-caliber defense, while the offense was able to get A.J. Brown involved, as the wide receiver had seven catches for 49 yards (7.0) on 11 targets. Saquon Barkley had 83 yards ,and Jalen Hurts made enough plays when it counted despite playing one of his most inefficient games of the season.

On defense, Vic Fangio’s unit was led by the newly acquired Jaelan Phillips, who had another dominant night, Nakobe Dean, who was stout at the linebacker positions, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, and Adoree Jackson.

With the Eagles set to begin preparation for the Cowboys in Week 12, we’re looking at instant analysis of the gritty 16-9 win.

More of the Lions’ fourth-down woes

The Eagles were dominant on defense, and you have to respect Dam Campbell for going for it on fourth down regardless of the situation. Detroit made Eagles’ history with its struggles.

Adoree’ Jackson

Jackson has taken his share of criticism, but on Sunday, the former USC star and Titans draft pick was solid in coverage. Jackson finished with four tackles and one pass breakup.

Nakobe Dean

There has been talk of the Eagles being unable to afford to keep all three linebackers. Still, Dean is the glue that has taken the Philadelphia defense to another level with physicality and timely plays. Overall, Dean finished with three tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and two QB hits.

A.J. Brown

It wasn’t his most explosive performance, but Brown was targeted 11 times, made seven catches for 49 yards, and the Brids got the win.
