Eagles vs. Cowboys: Dak Prescott and five Dallas teammates to watch on offense

We’ve seen Philadelphia Eagles fans standing outside of the NovaCare Complex with signs saying ‘Fix the offense’. We’ve seen kids at elementary schools punching heavy bags featuring the likeness of Dallas Cowboys stars.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing like Cowboys Week. It just means more. Things get more intense. Philadelphia hasn’t won there very often in Arlington lately. Last season’s win halted a six-game road losing streak in this feud. Might they make it two straight vs. ‘America’s Team’?

Dak Prescott, quarterback

Everything runs through Dak Prescott. When he’s on, the Cowboys teeter between ‘okay’ and ‘good’. When he’s bad, Dallas is downright awful.

He’s seen his share of success vs. the Eagles. He may have notched an opening-night win had he not been let down by his receivers. He’s dealing with a hip injury but was recently listed as a full participant in practice and is expected to play.

CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens

Some wide receiver duos are different. Philadelphia is home to A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The Cincinnati Bengals feature Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Cowboys have a special duo of their own in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Prescott’s top two receivers have combined for 98 receptions, 1,465 yards, and nine touchdowns. Quinyon Mitchell is as good as they come. So is Cooper DeJean. Can Philadelphia squeeze another good game out of Adoree’ Jackson?

Jake Ferguson, tight end

Jake Ferguson ranks third on the Cowboys’ stat sheet in receiving yards (400). He ranks second in targets (71). He leads the team in receptions (60).

He’s tied with Pickens for the team lead in TD receptions (seven). The Eagles’ linebackers can cover. Here comes a massive test in Week 12.

Javonte Williams, running back

Javonte Williams is a dual-threat tailback. The stat line is as follows: 809 yards on 161 carries, 93 yards on 26 receptions, a rushing TD, and another score coming by way of a reception.

The Eagles’ defense can’t fixate on Lamb, Pickens, and Ferguson in the passing game so much that they lose track of this guy. That will hurt them.

Tyler Smith, guard

Tyler Guyton is the left tackle protecting Dak Prescott’s blind side. Tyler Smith is the Pro Bowler on this offensive line. This week, he has a tough job. He’ll certainly make his money while trying to contend with the likes of Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, and Moro Ojomo.
