Brian Kelly updates injury status of LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green

LSU got good news regarding the injury status of tight end Trey’Dez Green. Per head coach Brian Kelly on Monday, Green has an MCL sprain and will be listed as questionable heading into the week three game against Florida.

A report from over the weekend stated that Green’s injury was not season-ending. He went down in the fourth quarter against Louisiana Tech and didn’t return, but was standing on the sideline with crutches and a knee brace.

The Tigers avoided a huge loss now that Green is expected to make a full return. He’s a versatile threat on offense, having experience at tight end and on the outside. At six-foot-seven, he’s a matchup nightmare for any defense.

Two games into his sophomore season, Green has two catches for 17 yards. He caught what ended up being the game-winning touchdown in week one against Clemson. As a true freshman last year, he played in 13 games. Green’s best game was in the Texas Bowl against Baylor, as he caught six passes for 53 yards and two scores.
