The league with the most Ballon d’Or awards

In the history of the Ballon d’Or, the Spanish league stands out as the one boasting the greatest number of winners. This trend is reinforced by the dominance of Barcelona (14 winners) and Real Madrid (9 winners) among the most represented clubs.

La Liga has produced 23 Ballon d’Or winners and logically claims the top spot among leagues. It is followed by Serie A with 17 trophies, then the Bundesliga (9), and the Premier League (7).
Of Serie A’s 17 wins, 15 players came from Juventus (9) and AC Milan (6), while only Ronaldo (1997 and 2002) managed to lift the trophy as an Inter Milan player.
