Von Miller has been around a long time. He’s entering his 15th NFL season, and he’s been around numerous great players, including quarterbacks such as Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, and Josh Allen. A primary reason why Miller chose the Washington Commanders was Jayden Daniels.
Miller has won two Super Bowls and believes the Commanders have a great chance at getting him a third ring. Much of that revolves around a franchise quarterback. Washington has one in Daniels.
As the Commanders are set to kick off the 2025 season on Sunday against the New York Giants, Miller spoke to the media and said Washington’s path to victory is simple.
“We got a stud at quarterback,” Miller said. “That’s a key piece with championship teams, and we got that. We really don’t even know what the ceiling is for Jayden. We just want to support him and do our job, and play our roles, and make plays, and get him the ball as much as possible. Get him as many shots on goal as possible. That’s some of the stuff that we did in Buffalo. Just keep the ball in Jayden’s hands and let him do his thing.”

Veterans often say it best in the fewest words possible. That’s what Miller did here. Much like basketball, you want your top player/scorer to take more shots than anyone else. That’s the strategy Miller expressed for the Commanders on Sunday and in every other game on Washington’s schedule. Miller has said on multiple occasions that he expects Washington to score a lot of points, which allows him to do what he does best: chase opposing quarterbacks with a lead.
