4 draft prospects to watch in Oregon vs. Northwestern

The Chicago Bears may be on the road, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a big football game in town this weekend. At Ryan Field, Northwestern will be facing No. 4 Oregon in a notable Big Ten matchup.

Oregon comes in at No. 4 because of its insanely talented roster, along with the fact that they have had a couple of dominant games to start the year at 2-0. It isn’t just Oregon, however, that has players worth scouting if you’re an NFL team. The 1-1 Northwestern Wildcats will have some NFL-caliber prospects on the field as well.

Between both squads, these are four of the players to keep an eye on:

Matayo Uiagalelei, EDGE, Oregon

Matayo Uigalelei is an edge rusher who is projected to be drafted in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft. This means that he is likely to be a noticeable player (among many) on Oregon’s defensive line when they come to Chicago this weekend.

Isaiah World, OT, Oregon

On the offensive side of the ball, Isaiah World is going to be looking to keep anyone from Northwestern from attacking their quarterback. The Bears may not have a bigger need on the football team right now than an elite left tackle, so scouts will be watching to see if World can translate to a left-sided player in the NFL.

Anto Saka, EDGE, Northwestern

Northwestern edge rusher Anto Saka can get to the quarterback well, but he has a lot more to prove than Uigalelei does at this point. Like we’ve said before, though, good edge rushers can be found in any round.

Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern

Are you noticing a pattern? The Bears need more help on the defensive and offensive lines. Schools of different calibers like Oregon and Northwestern may not play similar games when they meet on Saturday, but they both have players capable of one day playing on Sunday. Caleb Tiernan could be a backup plan for any team that doesn’t get one of the first-round tackles. If the scouts determine that he can, in fact, play on the left side in the NFL, the Bears could consider him an option. How he blocks against some of the animals that will line up opposite him this weekend, like Matayo Uigalelei, will determine just what NFL teams think of him going forward.
