Browns LB Carson Schwesinger pads Defensive Rookie of the Year resume

While the Cleveland Browns continue to struggle in 2025, with just three wins to their name, their 2025 NFL Draft class of rookies has been a bright spot. The immediate dominance of second round pick and linebacker Carson Schwesinger has headlined that.

And for Schwesinger, who is already the betting favorite to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, he has added another feather to his cap as he pursues the award. For the month of November, Schwesinger was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month.

Throughout November, Schwesinger logged 36 tackles, six tackles for loss, .5 sacks, and an interception for the Cleveland defense.

With just one month to go to continue to pad his resume, Schwesinger seems to be pulling away from the field of other Defensive Rookie of the Year candidates. Hybrid player Travis Hunter suffered a season-ending injury weeks ago, New York Giants defensive end Abdul Carter has been benched in back-to-back weeks for internal issues, and while Mason Graham is also playing at a high level for the Browns, it’s unlikely he can take the award from his teammate.
