  • The Shooting: Two men on a black moped drove past a crowd on the sidewalk. The passenger on the back of the moped opened fire, discharging at least two rounds toward the group.
  • Victims: Kaori was struck in the head by a stray bullet and later pronounced dead at Woodhull Hospital. Her 2-year-old brother was also grazed by a bullet but survived.

  • Amari Green (21): Identified as the suspected gunman. Following the shooting, the moped crashed into a car a few blocks away, and Green was taken to the hospital with a broken leg. He is in police custody and faces charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
