NFL experts predict Colts vs. Chiefs Week 12 winner

Off the bye week, the Indianapolis Colts are on the road in Week 12, taking on the Kansas City Chiefs.

So, who do the NFL experts have winning this matchup?

At 8-2 on the season, the Colts are currently the three seed in the AFC playoff race — just a half-game behind the 9-2 Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.

Kansas City is currently on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff picture at 5-5.

The Colts are currently the road betting underdogs in this game, but do the experts agree?

Four of NFL.com’s five staff members are picking the Chiefs to win. Here is why Gennaro Filice likes Kansas City in this one:

“I’d say the Colts would be wise to put it all on Jonathan Taylor in this one, but the Chiefs have held three of their last four opponents to 60 rushing yards or fewer, yielding an NFL-low 3.3 yards per carry in that span,” wrote Filice. “The chess match between Shane Steichen and Steve Spagnuolo takes center stage at Arrowhead, and I like the four-time Super Bowl champion to rally his defense in a must-win game.”

Pro Football Talk

Mike Florio is picking the Chiefs to win by a field goal, while Chris Simms has the Colts winning by a field goal.

“Will the real Chiefs finally stand up?” Florio wrote.

ESPN

Of ESPN’s eight NFL analysts making predictions, six of them are taking the Chiefs.

CBS Sports

Pete Prisco is picking the Chiefs to win by a score of 26-20.

“This is the game of the week, featuring a Colts team coming off a bye against a Chiefs team that can’t afford another loss,” wrote Prisco. “The Colts have rolled on offense this season, but this is a spot where the Kansas City defense steps up and plays well. The Chiefs win it with a desperate season-saving showing as Patrick Mahomes bounces back.”
