The Arizona Cardinals have already ruled out two offensive players for their Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Wednesday that running back Emari Demercado and receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will not play on Sunday.
Demercado suffered a high ankle sprain in the Cardinals’ 41-22 loss on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. He was unlikely to play, but Gannon also ruled out that possibility.
Also missing the game is Harrison. He had surgery for appendicitis last week and missed the game against the 49ers. He also will not play this week.
With Demercado out, only Bam Knight and Michael Carter are healthy running backs on the roster, although Trey Benson could be returning from a knee injury that has sidelined him since Week 4.
With Harrison out, Michael Wilson will again be the Cardinals’ WR1. In that role on Sunday against the 49ers, he had 15 catches for 185 yards, both career-high marks.
The Cardinals and Jaguars kick off from State Farm Stadium on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET (2:05 p.m. Arizona time).
