The Pittsburgh Steelers are busy making practice squad moves ahead of their Week 12 matchup vs. the Chicago Bears — including the return of versatile offensive weapon QB/WR John Rhys Plumlee.
On Wednesday, the Steelers announced a pair of practice squad moves — the signing of Plumlee and the release of S Jack Henderson.
After going unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft, Plumlee signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent. He was waived in August 2024. On October 29, 2025, Plumlee joined the Steelers’ practice squad but was waived just a few days later.
While his latest stay on Pittsburgh’s practice squad may be just as short-lived as his second stint, his versatility offers the Steelers practice squad depth at both receiver and quarterback — important areas of concern, especially amid Aaron Rodgers’ recent injury.
