The Detroit Lions fell to 6-4 after their 16-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
The Lions offense couldn’t take advantage of a stellar defensive effort against the defending Super Bowl champs. The Eagles had multiple drives start near or beyond midfield, and the Lions couldn’t execute on offense against the potent Philadelphia defensive line.
The Lions have a couple of rookies at key positions who played on Sunday night. Let’s take a look at the individual performances for the first-year players for the Lions from Week 11:
Tate Ratledge
The Eagles turned out to be the most difficult matchup to date for rookie guard Tate Ratledge, who rated as Pro Football Focus’s worst offensive lineman for Detroit on Sunday night.
Ratledge was credited with giving up at least three pressures, and the combination of him and center Graham Glasgow allowed pressure in quarterback Jared Goff’s face for the majority of the evening. The Eagles are more physically imposing across the board than any other defense Ratledge has faced so far, so the rest of the season should allow for some bounce-back opportunities.
Grade: D-
Tyleik Williams
Rookie defensive lineman Tyleik Williams got some opportunities in some new-look lineups the Lions have been working on since Williams saw his snaps dwindle to virtually nothing last week against the Commanders.
Williams started the game and took 36 snaps on the night, logging four tackles and forcing a hurry out of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. His performance represented a return to some of his early-season form.
Grade: B
Isaac TeSlaa
Rookie receiver Isaac TeSlaa logged 20 snaps, but never served as more than a blocker on the night. He didn’t earn any targets on a night when there weren’t many targets to go around for the Lions.
Grade: Incomplete
Dominic Lovett
Rookie receiver Dominic Lovett logged just one offensive snap but otherwise didn’t make much of an impact.
Grade: Incomplete
