Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid shares an update on injured OL Kingsley Suamataia

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters during his postgame press conference, sharing an immediate injury update on Kingsley Suamataia after he left the game early.

“Kingsley (Suamataia) was the only one that got hurt on the interception there,” said Reid, “So he hit his head on the turf.”

Suamataia was in concussion protocol after Mahomes’ interception and later ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Reid described Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos shortly after his injury update.

“Denver played a good game, and they got us today. I’ve got to make sure that we don’t go three and out with those last couple of offensive series,” said Reid, “There were a variety of things that went on that we all contributed to, so throughout both sides of the ball, and special teams. There were some good things, but when you’re playing a good football team, you’ve got to cut back on your penalties, too. There were too many, and then some of the other mistakes we had. So we’ll get that cleaned up, and we’ll get ready for the Colts.”

Mike Caliendo finished the game at left guard. While there is no estimate for when Suamataia can return to action, it is clear that the Chiefs need a whole-team effort ahead of Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts.
