The Jacksonville Jaguars have improved to 6-4 on the season following a Week 11 win over the LA Chargers.
With the clock having hit zero, let’s dive into our instant takeaways from the Jaguars’ performance.
– A huge win for the Jaguars. Not only because it keeps them on the inside of the AFC playoff picture, but also a fantastic bounce back performance after how last week played out. This says a lot about this Liam Coen-led Jaguars team.
– And speaking of bounce-back performance, that’s exactly what we saw from the Jaguars’ defense. The Chargers’ offense averaged under 4.0 yards per play in this game.
– The Jaguars leaned very heavily into the run game. The longest run was a 15-yarder, but they steadily churned out positive gains, keeping the offense ahead of the sticks and opening up opportunities for the passing game.
– In terms of playing time, Dyami Brown was the fourth wide receiver again — behind Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and Tim Patrick.
– The Jaguars controlled the time of possession in this game. The turning point was when they outscored the Chargers 7-0 in the third quarter, while holding the ball for over 13 minutes.
– Jacksonville lost the turnover battle, but they were efficient in the red zone and on third downs. Those are two ways to overcome that.
– Trevor Lawrence would like to have that throw back on the interception, but overall it was a sound day from. He was particularly successful in attacking the middle of the field.
