Former New England Patriots and current San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne is putting his vote in for Drake Maye as NFL MVP. The wideout commented on the quarterback’s social media post following Thursday’s win over the New York Jets.
Maye had another strong game going 25-of-34 passing for 281 yards and one touchdown. He was dialed in throughout the matchup, sidestepping incoming pass rushers and finding holes in the Jets’ secondary. He completed his first 11 straight passes in the game.
Maye currently has 2,836 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions on the year. The MVP buzz continues to grow, and even his former teammates are giving him praise.
“MVP,” Bourne replied on Maye’s Instagram post.

The quality of play in the NFL has been exceptional this year, and there are many worthy candidates for MVP. However, Maye has undoubtedly put himself in that conversation with his elite level of play as a 23-year-old in only his second NFL season.
