Twitter reacts to Patriots pounding Jets for eighth straight victory

The New England Patriots defeated the New York Jets by a 27-14 margin on Thursday night in an exciting AFC East divisional game.

It was a strong effort both on offense and defense for the Patriots, who improved to 9-2 on the season after picking up their eighth straight win. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye handled business against the struggling Jets defense by going 25-of-34 passing for 281 yards and one touchdown.

However, he got major help from the running game for a second straight week with rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson rushing 19 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught the first receiving touchdown of his NFL career.

Stefon Diggs recorded his third 100-yard receiving game of the season with a team-high nine receptions for 105 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, the Patriots held Jets quarterback Justin Fields to only 116 passing yards. They are a stingy unit that doesn’t give up many points, and that remained the case against the Jets in this matchup.
