The Denver Broncos have an injury concern with running back J.K. Dobbins ahead of their Week 11 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dobbins suffered a foot injury in the Week 10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders that forced him to exit the game before he returned and finished it out.

While that would seem to indicate that Dobbins might be OK to suit up in Week 11, apparently that is not the case and instead there appears to be a chance that not only does Dobbins miss Sunday’s game, but multiple.

Here’s the latest update.

J.K. Dobbins injury update

WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Dobbins was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday, so he’s off to a bad start this week.

Before practice, Broncos head coach Sean Payton didn’t rule out placing Dobbins on injured reserve, which is yet another bad sign for his chances of playing this week.

“Nothing’s been decided yet,” Payton said of putting Dobbins on IR. “At some point, you know, there will be more clarity with him and some of these other players.”

END OF UPDATE

According to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, the Broncos are considering putting Dobbins on injured reserve with his unspecified foot injury.

“Broncos I’m told are considering what to do with running back J.K. Dobbins and his foot injury. I was told placing him on injured reserve is being considered,” Tomasson reported on Tuesday.

Denver will begin their practice week on Wednesday and will drop their first injury report on the same day, so we’ll know more by then, at the latest, assuming head coach Sean Payton doesn’t provide an update beforehand.

Will J.K. Dobbins play in Week 11?

WEDNESDAY UPDATE: With Dobbins not practicing and Payton not ruling out injured reserve, it seems the Broncos running back is more likely to sit out than not.

Based on Tomasson’s report, not only does it look like he won’t play in Week 11, it now appears Dobbins might miss multiple games.

If Denver puts him on injured reserve, Dobbins would be forced to miss at least the next four games. With the Broncos having a bye in Week 12, Dobbins would be eligible to return in Week 16, assuming Denver puts him on IR this week.

Who is J.K. Dobbins’ handcuff?

However long Dobbins is out, RJ Harvey would take over lead-back duties in Denver after serving as the clear RB2 in Denver all season long.

In fantasy football, Harvey would be a locked-in low-end RB2 play with upside until Dobbins returns.
