Steelers injury update: Will LB Cole Holcomb play vs the Bengals?

On Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media ahead of this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals and led off with injury updates. According to Tomlin, key backup inside linebacker Cole Holcomb will be limited this week as he continues to work his way back from an illness that has cost him the past two games.

With Holcomb out of the rotation on defense, it has meant a heavier workload for starters Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson as well as increased reps for backup Malik Harrison. Harrison missed four games on IR but got back just in time to replace Holcomb in the lineup.

Holcomb’s story has been nothing short of remarkable after suffering a potential career-ending leg injury that cost him more than a year in recovery. The Steelers stood by him and its paid off as he is one of the best run stuffers on the Steelers defense.
