In the northeastern province of Khon Kaen, local communities are turning plastic waste into usable fuel, offering a grassroots solution to two pressing challenges: environmental pollution and rising energy costs.

How the Conversion Process Works
The process commonly used is known as pyrolysis, a method that heats plastic materials in the absence of oxygen to break them down into fuel products such as diesel-like oil.
Collected plastic waste is cleaned, shredded, and fed into a sealed chamber, where it is subjected to high temperatures. The resulting vapors are condensed into liquid fuel, which can be used for generators, agricultural machinery, or other local applications.
