Bill Belichick’s reported decision to ban New England Patriots scouts from North Carolina’s practices raised more than a few eyebrows on social media.
When speaking with media members on Friday, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was asked about his thoughts on the matter. He chalked it up to an individual choice on Belichick’s end and said the Patriots will cross that bridge when the time comes.
“That’s an individual choice. And we’ll cross that bridge when we look at individual players,” said Vrabel.
A source hinted that the reasoning for Belichick banning Patriots scouts was due to the way he has been treated after leaving New England.
“Why would we let them in our home after how he’s been treated since he left?” a UNC athletic source told Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.

The move by Belichick has mostly been viewed as petty.
It does nothing to the Patriots organization, who will still have thousands of other college players to scout. If anything, it does more harm to Belichick’s players, who likely joined the team with the hopes that every possible avenue to the NFL would be open.
