49ers huge Week 6 game vs. Buccaneers gets top NFL broadcast team

The gravity of the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 6 showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was evident when the NFL flexed the game from a 10:00am Pacific Time kickoff. It was made evident again when CBS announced the broadcast teams for the week’s slate.

Calling the clash of 4-1 NFC teams will be the No. 1 CBS team made up of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo according to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Eric Branch.

This will be the first time all season the 49ers will get a network’s top broadcast team on a non-national broadcast. They’ve yet to have a game worthy of the No. 1 Fox team − Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady.

Here are the broadcast teams for each 49ers game so far this season according to 506 Sports:

  • Week 1 at Seattle Seahawks: Fox, Joe Davis and Greg Olsen
  • Week 2 at New Orleans Saints: Fox, Kevin Kugler and Daryl Johnston
  • Week 3 vs. Arizona Cardinals: Fox, Adam Amin and Mark Sanchez
  • Week 4 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Fox, Adam Amin and Mark Sanchez
  • Week 5 at Los Angeles Rams: Prime Video, Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit
  • Week 6 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: CBS, Jim Nantz and Tony Romo

This may be the last time the 49ers get a network’s top broadcast team for awhile. Their next marquee game may not be until Week 10 when they host the Rams. Beyond that their games that appear to have that kind of potential are all slated for primetime.
